Learning with ESOL

The teachers at ESOL focus on more than just grammar and vocabulary: they also teach conversational topics that apply to students' interests, careers, and everyday lives. It allows learners of all levels to quickly use what they learn inside the classroom in real-life scenarios. At ESOL, every sentence, activity and topic builds towards fluency.

ESOL lessons help students develop the skills they need to communicate confidently. Students will begin with speaking, conversational skills and grammar, then move on to vocabulary, reading and writing. Once they have mastered these areas, they can speak confidently in any situation, understand native speakers from across the globe and feel comfortable building simple to complex sentence structures.

ESOL offers English courses at A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels of the CEFR framework of languages. Besides, the Business English courses support these levels at A1 through to C1 levels.

You can download the class materials for free and use them anytime as an ESOL student. After the class, students will find a quiz to help them refresh and practice new skills. For Business English students, downloadable exercises are available. ESOL experts create all materials to align with CEFR standards. If you want to learn more about it, view it here.

That's where ESOL comes in. ESOL is an institution that provides quality education to those wanting to learn English as a second language. The teachers are native-level and qualified, with years of experience teaching worldwide. Teaching is not their career; it's their passion.

When you schedule an ESOL class, you can join the class with other students from around the globe. The teacher will introduce themselves and begin teaching the lesson using learning materials you can download at the end of class. You interact with the materials, the teacher, and other students during the class. Towards the end of the course, the teacher will recap the lesson and ensure everybody has understood it. You can attend as many classes as you want before your final exam. You must pass all tests to pass ESOL certification and receive your certificate.

Joining the online class

Everyone makes mistakes; that's how we learn. In every class, your teacher and classmates will be there to provide you with personalised feedback. You'll have the opportunity to practice speaking, receive personalised feedback, and learn from other student's mistakes.

Don't worry your teacher will ensure that everyone has time to practice speaking aloud, answering questions, and conversing with one another. If you want more personal feedback (e.g., on your cover letter or the most challenging grammar topics), you can always sign up for an additional private class by purchasing extra credits in your account.

If you're a beginner or advanced ESOL student, our teachers are here to help.

ESOL teachers understand that different students learn in different ways. That's why they offer feedback tailored to each student's language needs. Our modules are structured according to CEFR, which stands for Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It's an internationally recognised framework that describes language ability from A1-C2 (A1 beginner and moving up to C2 fluent). Once you are a registered ESOL student, you can define your current CEFR level by taking the free placement test before you begin learning.

In all the classes, the lessons are going to be student-centred. It means that the students will learn a lot of new things and will do this by talking about the various topics being taught. The students should speak 80% of the time during class.

You can think of ESOL as a traditional school that has moved online. All the teachers at ESOL are native speakers, certified, and follow a learning plan that language experts have designed. The difference between ESOL and an offline school is that ESOL fits your busy schedule: you can take a class anytime and from anywhere.

Mid-course feedback and post course feedback are two of the best ways to give your instructor feedback on your course. Mid-course feedback is usually administered at the middle of the course structure, and post course feedback is given at the end of the semester, or even later when you've had time to reflect on it. Both forms of feedback help the instructors improve the courses.

When a teacher cancels class at the last minute, or doesn't show up, the school will add another coursework hour with a time that fits you well before the course finishes. If you can't make it to that class, though, an hour will be added towards the end of your course. If that doesn't work for you, another teacher will take the same class as a substitute or cover teacher.

You can take up to eight classes a month. If you're taking more than that, please let us know so we can have you enrol in one of our regular programs.
